If you are planning a french carp fishing holiday or the odd day coarse fishing while in Brittany, Ville Voisin is your ideal bed and breakfast accommodation. The department of Morbihan and surrounding areas (see map below) have plenty to offer the coarse and carp and fly fisherman.
Only a kilometre up the road from our B & B is Rosaires lake. It belongs to the commune and is available to fish by anyone after purchasing a ticket from the local bar or boulangerie. It costs 4.50 euros per day for an adult and 3 euros per child. Twice a year 210kg of trout is released into the lake and a competition held. Pike, roach, tench and big carp can also be caught. A holiday ticket can be bought for a week’s fishing that covers most canal and river systems within Morbihan for 30 euros an adult, 10 euros a minor and 2 euros for a child under 12 years old at the start of the year.
To the south and west runs the Canal de Nantes à Brest. It is an interconnecting system of rivers and locks and is only 20 minutes away (Ploërmel) from La Ville Voisin. A wide range of fish can be found along the stretches of this network, including black-bass, bleak, bream, carp, eel, perch, pike, roach, tench, trout and zander.
As mentioned above fishing permits are required. More detailed information on fishing permits can be found on the Fédération du Morbihan pour la Pêche website.
